When Accounting Requires Immediate Stabilisation
A company approached us that needed to replace an underperforming accounting service provider within a short period of time and regain full control over its accounting function. At the same time, the company was preparing for a transition to SAP, making it essential to ensure that both changes were carefully coordinated without disrupting day-to-day accounting operations.
Our first step was to assess the state of the accounting records, review the existing processes, and identify potential risks. Alongside planning the smooth handover of the accounting agenda from the previous provider, we also evaluated the requirements related to the SAP implementation and its alignment with Slovak accounting and tax regulations.
From the very first meetings, we identified key weaknesses, proposed a clear roadmap, and provided initial tax advisory support. The first step was to thoroughly review and organise the accounting records. Particular attention was paid to VAT reporting, accounting transactions and compliance with applicable legislation.
Through a detailed review, we successfully eliminated deficiencies, stabilised accounting processes and reduced operational risks.
Process Optimisation and Effective Cooperation
Effective communication and close cooperation with the client’s administrative team proved to be key success factors. Together, we redesigned document processing procedures to make workflows faster, more transparent and less prone to errors.
We implemented the BDO Portal as a secure platform for sharing and managing accounting documents. This provided the client with greater transparency, real-time visibility of processing status and immediate access to important information.
At the same time, we introduced a clear framework of responsibilities that improved the transparency of the entire accounting cycle.

Supporting the Transition to SAP
An important part of the engagement involved supporting the client's migration to SAP. We provided comprehensive assistance throughout the implementation process and worked closely with the client's IT team to adapt the system to Slovak accounting and tax requirements.
As the client also relied on customised SAP functionalities and specific configurations, we quickly familiarised ourselves with these requirements and effectively fully integrated them into day-to-day operations. This ensured a smooth transition without disrupting accounting continuity.
