The Value of Services Is Shifting
The Value of Services Is Shifting
The world of business services is being reshaped in real time. The conference in Athens made it clear that AI is not only changing the speed of delivery, but more importantly, redefining client expectations – and with them, the very nature of BSO. The recognition of the CEE BSO Cluster, led by our Partner Eva Belková, confirms that the future belongs to models built on connected expertise, not isolated processes.
The BSO (Business Services & Outsourcing) Global Conference annually brings together experts from across the BDO network to address the most pressing challenges facing the business services and outsourcing sector.
This year’s edition, hosted by our colleagues from BDO Greece in Athens, was particularly special for us.
Our Partner Eva Belková personally received the Together for Success award, recognising outstanding cross-border collaboration within the BDO network.
The award was presented to the CEE BSO Cluster, a model whose development has been driven by Eva’s leadership.
The conference in Athens was not just about awards. It was primarily about how the world of services is evolving, the role AI plays in it, and why clients will increasingly expect not only speed, but also perspective, quality, and the ability to connect expertise across markets.
The World of Services Is Changing
One of the most powerful messages of the conference was clear: the service delivery model on which the BSO world has long relied is being fundamentally rewritten under the influence of AI.
Artificial intelligence is already taking over routine tasks, accelerating data processing, and shortening delivery times. But this shift goes beyond how work is done. It is redefining expectations.
Accuracy is becoming the baseline. Speed is no longer a differentiator. Value is moving higher – toward the ability not just to process data, but to truly understand it in depth and in context. To see connections, ask the right questions, and make decisions that are not only fast, but meaningful.
This is precisely why the ideaa of #NeverNormal and #GrowthMindset resonated throughout the conference.
Stability is no longer the goal. The new standard is the ability to thrive in constant change.

From Process Execution to Higher-Value Advisory
The most significant shift driven by AI is not technological. It is professional.
Work that has traditionally relied on processing, control, and repetition is increasingly being automated. This does not diminish the role of experts. On the contrary, it elevates it.
Clients are no longer looking for providers who simply “process agendas.”
They are looking for partners who can help them understand data, shape decisions, ensure compliance, and navigate complexity across multiple jurisdictions.
This is where the role of BSO teams is fundamentally changing:
-
From execution to high-value, expert advisory.
-
From isolated processes to an integrated perspective.
-
From local delivery to regional models that provide consistent quality, shared high standards, and broader expertise.
A Model That Keeps Pace with Change
The award-winning CEE BSO Cluster, led by Eva Belková, is not a response to a trend. It is a model that actively leverages this shift. It connects teams across countries to deliver consistent service quality across the region, more unified processes and outputs, faster delivery through shared capacities, and greater space for expert advisory instead of routine work.
In practice, this means that cross-border collaboration is no longer just an internal principle of the network. It becomes tangible value for the client.
Clients operating internationally can rely on a coordinated approach that combines local expertise with regional management and international standards.
Recognition That Confirms the Direction
The Together for Success award is more than formal recognition of a successful project.
It confirms that cross-border collaboration has become strategically essential in today’s environment.
At a time when services are being reshaped by technology, regulation, and rising client expectations, working faster is no longer enough. We need to work in a more connected, more expert, and more intentional way—guided by a clear understanding of what clients truly need.
That was the message from Athens: the future of BSO will not be built on efficiency alone.
It will be built on the ability to bring together technology, human expertise, and trust into one coherent model.
Outsourcing today is not about handing over tasks. It is about gaining control, quality, and clarity.
If you are looking for a partner to help you manage the complexity of accounting, payroll, or reporting across multiple countries, without compromising on quality, we would be glad to explore how we can support you.
