Transaction highlights:
BDO’s Role
ENGIE appointed BDO to provide financial and tax vendor due diligence in connection with the sale.
Vendor due diligence plays a critical role in transactions of this scale. It provides a detailed assessment of the businesses’ financial and tax positions, helping sellers prepare for a competitive sale process and giving prospective buyers a reliable basis for their evaluation.
Delivering such a mandate requires deep technical expertise, sector knowledge and the ability to manage complex due diligence across multiple businesses operating in a highly regulated industry.
Combining Expertise Across Advisory Teams
Tax Vendor Due Diligence
The tax due diligence was led by BDO Partner Miroslav Tain, supported by Lucia Bellanová and Tomáš Sandtner.
Financial Vendor Due Diligence
For the financial due diligence, BDO worked closely with its strategic partner doubleYou Partners, whose team was led by Alex Šrank, alongside Peter Chochol, Petra Pelešová and Henrich Daubner.
This mandate represents an important addition to BDO’s transaction advisory credentials in Slovakia and demonstrates our ability to deliver sophisticated financial and tax advisory services on complex, high-profile M&A transactions.
We thank ENGIE for its trust and congratulate both parties on the successful completion of the transaction. We also extend our appreciation to UniCredit Bank and Dentons for their professional collaboration throughout the process.
