BDO Legal is one of the best law firms in Slovakia. In the ranking of the largest law firms, compiled by the daily SME and The Slovak Spectator, we ranked in the TOP 10 of the most important ones. We were successful in up to 6 categories.
Every year, The Slovak Spectator, in cooperation with the SME daily, compiles rankings of the largest law firms in Slovakia according to objective criteria. This year, BDO Legal also made it into the top 10. We talked to the company's partners, Pavel Poliak and Petr Káčer, about what is behind this and what BDO Legal intends for the future.
Our company succeed in up to 6 categories. What do you see behind it?
"We consider the placement in the TOP 10 international offices in the first year of our operation within BDO to be a confirmation of the correctness of our decision to merge with BDO. However, it would not be possible to get it without the trust of our clients and without the conscientious work of the people who make up our great team ", says Pavel Poliak.
BDO Legal achieved the best score in the Real Estate & Development category. Can we consider real estate, energy and industry to be the key areas that BDO Legal focuses on and has the most experience in?
"We are extremely pleased to be among the TOP offices in the field of real estate," says Káčer. "In addition to energy and industry, this has long been one of the primary areas of our expertise, extending into other areas such as M&A, contract, corporate and administrative law."
BDO Legal is making progress, despite the economic slowdown caused by the pandemic. This is also confirmed by the statements of Pavel Poliak, according to whom they expect a further increase in the agenda during the year, which is associated with the need for further expansion of the team. BDO Legal is already one of the offices with the largest number of lawyers and attorneys. "Talented people always have our doors open and we are happy to welcome them," he adds.
What is your ambition for the future?
“Unequivocally confirm your position in the TOP 10 and, of course, increase it subsequently. Our primary goal and ambition is to create a space for people that will be inspiring and fully supportive for them so that we can constantly improve and deliver effective solutions to clients, ” concludes Káčer.
